Habitat Homeowner Now Debt Free, Thanks to MAA Funding | Alabama Housing Finance Authority

Habitat for Humanity homeowner Sonya Matthews of Anniston experienced financial hardship after falling ill from COVID-19 three different times in 2020.
She qualified for lien extinguishment from Mortgage Assistance Alabama (MAA) that paid off the mortgage on her home. Watch Sonya share her story in the video below.
[embedded content]To date, the popular MAA program has helped 2,756 COVID-affected Alabama households keep their homes.
The number of applications MAA can accept based on funds made available by the U.S. Treasury has been met. MAA staff are reviewing and processing the remaining applications as quickly as possible.
All applications submitted are subject to funding availability, which is very limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
